kulturpop is built on our belief that pop culture has made ideas of high culture and low culture obsolete. in the world of kulturpop michael lau sits alongside michaelangelo, and brutalism rubs shoulders with gaudi. we’re futurist without the fascist overtones: we embrace technology, science and design developments but we’re just as happy taking pictures of misty padi fields.
the site was originally conceived by writer and photographer matt armitage and the pop culture agency mn8 as a drop-box for the acres of material they generate for magazines, websites and clients around the world, as well as original content and comment that doesn’t fit into those boxes.
as we roll out over the next few months we’ll be adding new voices with contributors and columnists from around the world. we’ll be covering music, trends, travel, film, books and pretty much everything that pricks up our ears. oh, and we’ll be talking to people and printing that, too.
we hope you like us.
